IntroductionCopyCopy link to this section: Introduction

Postdirect's mailbox forwarding service is a simple solution that automatically delivers emails from any email account (such as Yahoo Mail) to a Gmail account.

Important: This service does not support migrating email messages between accounts, only ongoing forwarding.

Target audienceCopyCopy link to this section: Target audience

This service is ideal for people who use Gmail as their day to day email provider but still receive emails sent to older addresses they still have with other providers.

Frequently Asked QuestionsCopyCopy link to this section: Frequently Asked Questions
How does the free trial work?CopyCopy link to this section: How does the free trial work?

The free trial lets you to use Postdirect's mailbox forwarding service to import up to 50 messages within a 14-day period.

How often are messages imported?CopyCopy link to this section: How often are messages imported?

Mailboxes configured with an IMAP server are imported in real-time. Postdirect will check mailboxes configured with a POP server several times an hour.

Note that when first configuring a mailbox, it can take some time to import all messages if there are many.

Why only 500 messages per day?CopyCopy link to this section: Why only 500 messages per day?

The Gmail API we use to import your messages into your Gmail account is limited to 500 emails per day by Google.

What about Gmail's spam filtering?CopyCopy link to this section: What about Gmail's spam filtering?

The imported messages are subject to Gmail's spam filtering and may end up in your Gmail Spam folder, but they are guaranteed to be imported into Gmail.

Can I trust you with access to my Gmail account?CopyCopy link to this section: Can I trust you with access to my Gmail account?

Although we have no affiliation with or endorsement from Google, Postdirect completed the mandatory Cloud Application Security Assessment  Tier 2 required by Google. Only after successfully passing this assessment was Postdirect permitted to provide this service.

Why do you need permissions to my Gmail account?CopyCopy link to this section: Why do you need permissions to my Gmail account?

In order to import email messages into your Gmail account, we need your permission to do so. Postdirect requests the following minimal permissions:

  • Add emails into your Gmail mailbox: This is a "write-only" permission which does NOT allow Postdirect to read emails in your Gmail account.
  • See and edit your email labels: This permission is optional, and allows you to set a label on imported emails.

These do NOT grant Postdirect permission to access, read, modify or delete emails in your Gmail account.

I deleted my account, how can I verify you no longer have access to my Gmail account?CopyCopy link to this section: I deleted my account, how can I verify you no longer have access to my Gmail account?

When you delete your Postdirect account, your Gmail access is automatically revoked. You can verify this by checking that Postdirect no longer appears under Third-party apps & services  in your Google account.
